Thanks for your work.
Your message offers an example we all can relate to, remembering the math teachers who coaxed us to show our work. They told us not to waste time on the eraser, trying to make our errors disappear. They explained that we needed to show that we'd dedicated our time to genuine effort. More importantly, by not hiding our mistakes, we allowed our teachers to confirm what was right, and to show us where we went wrong.
When we as Christians begin to be more transparent with our struggles, showing the effort, we encourage others not to feel so alone in their struggles. We may even invite compassion as an alternative to criticism. More importantly, as we prayerfully seek God's guidance and grace in those struggles, we can recall that He often uses honest fellowship, to provide an insightful word through a sister or brother in Christ.

I enjoyed reading this blog, as well as the others. That's a good phrase to remember: "look up....listen up... to be lifted up". Also enjoyed looking at other parts of the Reedy site, very well done!

Showing our work also allows others to see the light of Christ in us and encourages others to participate as the hands and feet of Christ on earth. I also like the part about, "seeing how we get to the result." That is crucial to our walk as Christians, the journey produces the work of God!

Our witness must be versatile in order to reach all of the people of God. It must reach to those places out of our comfort zone. Is our truthful witness present in those places?

Wow! What a well timed word! My recent ordeal with having to find another vehicle after being rear-ended by a drunken, unlicensed driver taught me a lot about myself and my faith in God. I was bitter, angry and not to mention injured! I still need surgery or something on my shoulder as a result of the accident. For over a month, I watched my family in totally disarray as we tried to balance our busy family schedule around one car. Yes, it was tough to see God through the tears of anger and frustration. However, I'm glad God never leaves us in our closets of humaness and faithlessness. My healing from Jesus began when a member of our church reminded me of one of the things I regularly preach, "forgiveness should be unconditional despite the situation." My healing continued when one of my mentor minister stopped by our Ash Wednesday Service and shared with me something one of his early mentors in the ministry shared with him, that "a good saleman should always believe in his product." I instantly knew what the Lord was trying to get me to see, that "It's during the difficult times that we really have to place our trust in the things God has taught us!" It's as if the moment I refocused my attention back on God, that my difficulties seem to have worked themselves out! I really like my new vehicle! Now I see God through the tears!

For me, that still moment, is the "peace of the Lord" that we share so often in our Sunday service. Wonderful really, to feel that peace, close to God, no action required, no fears, no desires. May the peace of the Lord be with you.

Be still! For most of us that would take a sedative or tranquilizer just to slow down! However, I like your advice because it suggests that we should assess our own lives and apply the appropriate consequences for living our lives at warp-speed: TIME OUT!

Time out is what many who work with children use as discipline to give child an opportunity to reflect on his or her behavior in a removed area. However, for the Believer Time Out is really our Time of Prayer and Meditation before God! We should be instant in prayer, despite our surroundings, in regular communication with the Lord! And I further believe that it's when we are in His Presence that tranquilizer of Peace and sedative of joy allows us to "Stand Still and See the Salvation of the Lord"!

Rev. Salatheia, you make an important point. We do need to show our Christian work. Generally I tend to think that we should do such because it is what God wants us to do. You drove home the point that we should also do this because it gives God glory. He deserves it because of all that He has done and is doing for us.

Great message and reminder! I recall also those days of teaching the kids. I use to say to Kristen and Peter, "line your numbers us". Our work for kingdom-building must line up with the Word of God...and pleasing in His sight!
